2007 Scholarship

During 2007, ACICIS awarded two scholarships for students to undertake six months study at Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), in Yogyakarta. Students had the opportunity to study Islam and Islamic business in English at the university's Economics faculty, experiencing everyday life in the world's most populous Muslim nation.

The scholarships were awarded on the basis of how the proposed program of in-country study benefitted their study, career plans and aspirations; and the quality of their academic record. The scholarship was intended to assist the student in undertaking the semester abroad and was to be used to either pay tuition fees, travel or living costs associated with the program.

The winners of the scholarships were Rebecca Livermore, University of Tasmania (Semester 1, 2007)(Read her story), and Michael Costa, Deakin University (Semester 2, 2007).

ACICIS gratefully acknowledges the Australia Indonesia Institute as the donor of the funds for these scholarships.
