Stay involved!

Photo by sem 26 ACICIS student James WalshACICIS students regularly tell us that the highlight of their university career was without a doubt their time spent abroad studying in Indonesia. Past experience indicates that the very best way to encourage other students to undertake in-country studies is to hear about it firsthand from former ACICIS students who have 'been there done that'. Why not share your experiences and encourage others to enjoy the benefits and rewards that you've gained from studying in Indonesia? By staying involved with ACICIS there are a number of ways you can help us to ensure that others are aware of the exciting opportunities available to them in Indonesia:

Promote ACICIS at your university

Many students do not even know about study abroad options available to them. A simple presentation explaining what ACICIS is, the benefits to a student's academic development and future job prospects, as well as the fun, adventurous, eye-opening experiences possible can inspire other students to explore their study options in Indonesia. It is also a great way to build up confidence and practice your public speaking skills! We can provide you with supporting materials such as brochures and PowerPoint presentations. Just email us at: acicis@murdoch.edu.au.

Organise a Study Abroad Fair

Many universities and schools organise Open Days, Market Days and Study Abroad Fairs which are a great way to promote ACICIS study options to interested students. If you are willing to set up an ACICIS stand at your university we would love to hear from you. Just email us at acicis@murdoch.edu.au and we can provide you with the supporting materials.

Request brochures and posters

Please let us know if you would like to receive a packet of ACICIS flyers and/or posters. You can view the PDFs here (just scroll down to the 'Posters and Flyers' section). We would love it if you could hand these out in lectures or pin them up on notice boards so that prospective students can see them. There is also a 5-minute ACICIS Information DVD which can be shown to students in lectures or classrooms.

To receive a packet, please send an email with your name, title, school/university, address and number of brochures/posters needed to: acicis@murdoch.edu.au.

*Remember, we are eager to learn what you gained from your time studying in Indonesia so we can pass this information on in our promotional materials to potential new students, lecturers, funding bodies, partner universities and the media. We are always in need of good photographs and video footage as well, so if you have any to share with us, please send to: acicis@murdoch.edu.au.

Media

Are you a returned Journalism Professional Practicum (JPP) student with newly acquired connections to media sources (e.g. newspaper, radio station, community news etc)? This is obviously a great way to spread news about ACICIS and the various study options we offer in Indonesia. We can put you in touch with both current and former students.

On behalf of ACICIS I would like to thank you for your enthusiasm and assistance in helping to promote ACICIS study options in Indonesia.
