Application due date for JPP and DSPP: 1 October 2012

Program start: 7 January 2013
Program finish: 15 February 2013

All students must arrive in Jakarta by Wednesday 2 January 2013 at the latest, as orientation will commence on 3 January 2013. Please note that it is compulsory to attend orientation. If you cannot attend orientation you will be unable to participate in the practicum.

Students may arrive as early as 20 December 2012 provided their return ticket is booked for the weekend immediately following the conclusion of the program (16-17 February). This is due to visa restrictions (see below). Because of the problems of getting seats on aeroplanes during the New Year period, participants are strongly advised to book their flights early. Participants must realise that the responsibility to arrange flights belongs to the participant. ACICIS will accept no liability if a participant is unable to arrange flights.

Under no circumstances will Atma Jaya University supply letters for extensions of a socio-cultural visa. 60 days is the maximum duration of the Social-Cultural visa (this includes arrival and departure days) for the JPP/DSPP and students are responsible for any overstays resultant of arriving in Indonesia so early that they are unable to complete the program on their 60 day visa. The duration of the 60 day social-cultural visa commences from the date that the student enters the country, NOT the date of issue of the visa itself.

Most airlines fly direct to Jakarta and there are many budget airlines operating throughout Southeast Asia, and to Indonesia. Perth to Jakarta on Jetstar is about $400 return.
Visa About AUD$60 for a 60-day Social/Cultural visa
Cost as set by individual Indonesian Embassies and Consulates. All participants will need to have a passport valid till September 2010..
Insurance From about AUD$250 for six weeks
Prices vary with different companies. Students may be covered by their home university's corporate insurance.
Accommodation Approx AUD$250-$450 per month
Prices of accommodation in Jakarta vary greatly depending on quality, ranging from A$10 to A$100 a night.
Living Expenses From about AUD$35 a day
Costs may include food, taxi fares, sight-seeing, socialising and other incidentals. Prices are relatively inexpensive in Indonesia, but Jakarta can be expensive.

All costs are approximations only and are in Australian dollars (AUD$). ACICIS cannot be held liable if bookings are made and monies lost due to an application not being successful or in the event of program cancellation. Some of the costs such as airfares and insurance may vary; applicants must check prices for themselves. ACICIS reserves the right to alter fee structures without notice.
