Radio 68H

JPP 2009 students meet with Sofyan Wanandi, who is a leading Indonesian businessman and chairman of the Indonesian Employers Association.Intern Duties

  • Producing programs for the Asia Calling program. Students will be expected to pitch ideas and then head out into the field to do interviews and recordings.
  • Attending editorial meetings.
  • Chasing up leads by phone or in the field.

Specific Requirements

  • Experience in radio broadcasting.
  • Your own sound recording equipment (essential as 68H does not have equipment to loan for interviews in the field).
  • A laptop is essential and it would be handy if it is equipped with Adobe Audition, Cool Edit Pro, or Audacity software. A good working knowledge of such software programs is necessary. Note that Mac laptops have problems in logging onto to the office internet network.

Work Hours

Monday-Friday. Mid-morning to afternoon or whenever you wish to go home.

Location and getting there

68H is located at the old Tempo headquarters on Jl. Utan Kayu. The office is a 15-20 minute stroll down from the Utan Kayu stop on the Pulo Gadung-Dukuh Atas 2 busway route, so easily accessible from anywhere close to a busway route. By taxi the proposition is not so tempting as the traffic can be very congested between central Jakarta and Utan Kayu. There are plenty of kos in the area.
